Franklin Roosevelt did many things to try and involve the government in the great depression. He's biggest of all his ideas was to great jobs for as many people as possible. This killed two birds with one stone. With the new jobs people would first of all be able to make money which secondly allowed them to spend it on goods which would bring up the economy. The money to create these jobs had to be borrowed but with the increase in money spend increased the taxes collected. This cycle allowed the government to pay back the loan and give the citizens the ability to collect and spend money for the first time in years. These plans were all put under the name of "The new deal."

I believe one of the main reasons for the stock market crashing in 1929 was because of the sudden increase in loans with the agricultural recession. During the stock market game I went through a few different feelings. At first, When i was beginning to make money I felt successful. I noticed after making a good deal i felt surprisingly excited. As much as it was just a game it made me see how easy it would be to get addicted to the stokes. In the same way, when the stock market crashed i could sympathize with how hard it would have been because of all the money that was lost.
The 20's were an important time in the history of the United States. In the 20's the economy flourished. People had money and with the increase in assembly lines people had things to spend it on. One of the major things that came out of the 20's was woman's rights. Woman's rights gave woman in that era the new ability to vote. later in the 20's the formations of gangs began to take place as well as rum running. However the stock market skyrocketed and made the lives of people at the time much more pleasant then it had been in the past. For now...
This movie was very exciting to watch. At the same time it also showed a great example of how life used to be back in the 20's Vs how life was entering the 30's. This movie really showed how much a working father had to battle through bankruptcy and go day by day to even get a single shift. I felt the emotion in how much each fight really determined the way his family would live. I think that the movie in a whole portrayed an accurate representation of how the lives of the people were back in that time.
