Hitler took many steps to begin his rise of power. Hitler began his multi-step plan gain power with the Beer Hall Putch. The idea behind this was to preach to a group of drunk men when they were more likely to want to agree to something that would any other time seem dangerous. That night Hitler had around 3000 followers that had agreed to meet him along with the others at a designated place the next day to overthrow the government. The next day that did not happen when only 500 people showed. In later years Hitler joined an anti-republic party. He also followed in Mussolini footsteps by creating what he called the brownshirts to demonstrate intimidation and enforce that he was elected in as chancellor when he ran.
The Weimar Republic faced a few challenges early after being created. The two major speed bumps that the republic faced was Spartakist uprising and the Wolfgang Kapp. The Spartakist uprising was a german communist group that wanted to take over Berlin. They were unsuccessful because they were shut down by the Freikorps. The Freikorps were a volunteer group of anti-revolutionary men fighting as the unspoken German military. This was because Germany was only able to have 100,000 Military men. The Wolfgang Kapp on the other hand was established in the hopes to overthrow the government. The Germans called it a putsch. Mussolini used one simple tactic to rise to power. That strategy was intimidation. He created the Acerbo Law which gave him a huge advantage in the vote. He also used "blackshirts" to kill and beat people who went against him in public places to also intimidate.
This movie for me took and interesting perspective of a jewish concentration camp during WWII. The brutality of the events and the enormous amount of cruelty was made lighter by the dad of the little boy. By him turning everything into a game the little boy didn't have to worry about anything happening and also at the same time allowed the dad to get him to do crazy things with the excuse of them being able to win the grand prize. looking at the events that occurred to the family in the big picture really shows the harshness of the camps back during the war. Another thing that was really emphasized in this movie was the love a mother has for her family. The little boys mom was willing to get put into a war camp just to be as close to her son and husband as she can. In the end the dads life was taken. He risked his life the entire time to save his little boy. In the end the boys life was saved but his father was not so lucky.
